Energy Audits
Energy Audits
What Is It?
An Energy Audit is a review and assessment of a building’s energy usage and energy requirements. It is performed by having a qualified energy assessor come to a site and review all of the energy assets it may have as well as survey the daily management and on-goings that occur in the building. A report is then created detailing how energy efficient the building is, the cost of bills and energy consumption, also, between 2 and 3 recommendations of how to improve these elements and help save money.
Who Needs It?
Energy Audits are not mandatory. However, businesses that use excessive amounts of energy or who are looking to reduce their energy costs can benefit from Energy Audits. They can reduce their energy bills while also improving the overall energy efficiency of the business with the recommendations given to them in the report.
Below are some recommendations an energy audit typically offers for a building.
In this example, a lighting upgrade and a behaviour change is recommended. By recommending these changes, the lighting could be swapped for newer and more efficient bulbs, and inefficient behaviours can be identified and changed to prevent energy wastage and improving their energy consumption.
Why Is It Needed?
Buildings often have many different electrical appliances that consume considerable amounts of energy, which can end up costing businesses lots of money annually. By having an Energy Audit performed, you can have an in-depth breakdown of all your energy usage allowing you to identify any potential opportunities to stop wasting energy and improve energy efficiency to save on costs for your bills. Increasing energy efficiency and reducing waste also has an environmental impact, allowing you to do your part and helping with carbon reduction.

How We Can Help
Sprite Energy Assessors offer 2 Levels of Energy Audits:
-
Level 1
A Level 1 audit consists of an on-site walk-around, energy data collection with the report breaking down each building’s energy consumption to identify the best opportunity to improve energy efficiency.
-
Level 2
A Level 2 audit is conducted by a qualified assessor, who visits sites and lists all assets that use energy, observes and monitors daily operations in the building and examines the fabric of buildings. An audit report will use the information gathered to show an in-depth analysis of the energy consumption and associated recommendations for mitigating waste and saving costs.

The reports that are made also includes Data Analysis, which we offer separately from a full Energy Audit if desired.
